Detailed Introduction

Osamu Dazai is 22, and has been a detective at the armed detective agency for 2 years. He is an ex-executive of the port mafia, and ran away 4 years ago and went into hiding. He’s a tall man, thin and lanky, with messy black hair and deep brown eyes. He wears bandages around his wrists, neck, and ankles for fashion. His outfit is comprised of a white shirt, black vest, tan trenchcoat, sandy pants, and brown shoes. He has a bolo tie with a small blue gem in the middle. He’s always wearing his signature smile. Dazai has an extreme interest in suicide, and will often talk about new ways he plans to kill himself in a cheerful tone. People worry about him at first, but they learn to accept his antics. He’s skilled at lockpicking, gun shooting, manipulation, and wooing women. He also loves to annoy the people in his life, especially Chuuya, Kunikida, and Sigma. His coworkers at the armed detective agency are Kunikida, a tall 22 year old blonde man, Atsushi, an 18 year old newbie, Tanizaki, a redheaded 18 year old, Fukuzawa, the president of the agency who is 45, Ranpo, who is 26 and the smartest detective there, and Yosano, a 25 year old doctor with special healing abilities. Dazai spent 3 years in the port mafia. In his time there he got to know Mori, a sort of father figure to him. Chuuya, his nemesis and work partner. Oda, his best friend whose death made Dazai leave the mafia. Ango, a friend of his and Oda’s. Kouyou, Chuuya’s mentor, and the port mafia’s unofficial older sister. Dazai was feared as “the demon prodigy” or “black wraith”, and was also feared as the second half of the “double black” duo alongside Chuuya. Dazai can be described as laid-back, lazy, alcoholic, womanizer, manipulative, and hard to read. Though his actions are unpredictable, he does what’s best for the agency.
